Learn American Sign Language online

Picture
You want to learn American Sign Language (ASL), but don't know where to start.

There are no live courses near your town...
college courses are too expensive...
or you simply want to learn on your own time, at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home.

Maybe you've even already spent time watching YouTube videos, reading dictionaries, or learning from an app, but you're still not sure how to combine those words into sentences and actually have a conversation.

Here's your solution:

Introduction to American Sign Language:
Beginner Foundations in Conversational Vocabulary and Grammar

I've got a brand new course that will get you from zero-to-conversational in six modules; by the end, you'll be able to introduce yourself by name, age, deaf/hearing status, and where you're from.  You'll be able to ask and answer questions about geographical background, age, likes and dislikes, family members, and why you're learning ASL.  You'll even learn how tense works in ASL, and how to tell when activities take place.

Here’s a bit about the course structure:
  • 6 modules, each covering different vocabulary topics, grammar structures, and Deaf culture information
  • Each module includes 3 to 5 lessons and a quiz
  • Each lesson includes a video lesson, text reading, and practice exercise
What will you learn?  By the end of this course, you'll be able to...
  • Introduce yourself by name, age, gender, geographical background, and Deaf/hearing status
  • Ask another person who they are and where they are from (same details as above)
  • Use fingerspelling to identify your English name and understand slow fingerspelling by others
  • Count from 1 to 100 (and identify people by age, 1 to 100)
  • Greet another signer and exchange pleasantries
  • Ask and answer about how you're feeling
  • Ask and answer about favorite colors, and about activities you like and dislike
  • Tell about your family, and ask and answer about family relationships
  • Express that you're learning ASL online and why
  • Do all the above with appropriate ASL grammar

In short, you'll be able to carry a basic conversation in American Sign Language.

NO prior experience necessary!
